Business Stub Privacy Policy
Effective August 10, 2026. This policy explains how Up In Pieces LLC, doing business as Business Stub (shown on this site as BusinessStub), handles information for the BusinessStub website, marketplace, platform, and Business Stub service-text program.
Information we collect
We may collect information you provide directly, including your name, email address, mobile phone number, company, inquiry details, project requirements, account information, communications, and transaction or billing details. Payment processors receive payment-card information directly; Business Stub does not need to store complete card numbers.
When you use the site or platform, we may also collect device and browser information, IP address, referring and visited pages, approximate location derived from IP, timestamps, security events, and product or site usage information. Messages and inquiry records may include delivery status, attachments, and consent or opt-out events.
How we use information
We use information to review and respond to inquiries, scope custom projects, provide and secure accounts and services, operate the marketplace and platform, deliver requested communications, process payments, maintain records, troubleshoot problems, prevent misuse, improve our products, and comply with legal obligations.
Checking an optional service-text box authorizes only conversational and service-related messages from Business Stub about the Business Stub inquiry, project, account, or service described at the point of consent. It does not authorize marketing texts or texts sent on behalf of an independent client business using the BusinessStub platform.
Short-link analytics
When someone opens a short link served through 2bs.us or stub.ing, Business Stub records the click and may collect its timestamp, device and browser category, referring site or hostname, approximate geography, and masked network data. We use this information to operate and secure the short-link service, measure link performance, troubleshoot problems, and report useful aggregate trends.
We do not store the visitor’s raw IP address in the detailed short-link analytics record. A network address may be processed momentarily to derive approximate geography and masked network data before the detailed record is stored. We also use a pseudonymous identifier that is specific to each short link to estimate unique visitors. It is not designed to identify a person or track the visitor across different short links.
When a browser sends a recognized Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we restrict analytics collection for that click. Limited operational information may still be processed as needed to redirect the link, maintain security, prevent abuse, and keep the service reliable.
Detailed short-link analytics are generally retained for up to 90 days. We may retain aggregate, non-visitor-level trend information for longer to support reporting, service planning, security, and product improvement. Analytics for a short link may be viewed by authorized users of the BusinessStub account that controls the link and by authorized BusinessStub platform administrators.
Mobile information and text-message consent
Mobile information, phone numbers, text-messaging originator opt-in data, and consent will not be sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.
We may provide this information to vendors that help us deliver or support text messaging, solely as necessary to provide those services and subject to appropriate confidentiality and use restrictions. All other categories of information sharing described in this policy exclude text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent.
Consent is specific to the Business Stub messaging program and is not transferable to client businesses, affiliates, or unrelated campaigns. You may opt out at any time by replying STOP. Reply HELP for help or email contact@businessstub.com.
When we disclose information
We may disclose non-SMS-consent information to service providers that host, secure, analyze, support, or process our services; to payment and communications providers; to professional advisers; when required by law or needed to protect rights and safety; or in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale of assets. Providers may use information only for the services they perform for us unless their own legally presented terms apply.
If you submit an inquiry to an independent business listed or hosted through BusinessStub, relevant inquiry information may be made available to that business so it can respond. That business is responsible for its own communications and privacy practices. Business Stub service-text consent is not passed to that business.
Retention and security
We retain information for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here, to maintain business and consent records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal obligations. Retention periods vary by record type and relationship.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards. No website, storage system, or transmission method is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
You may decline the optional service-text checkbox and still submit an inquiry. You may ask to access, correct, or delete certain personal information, subject to identity verification and legal or operational retention requirements. Browser settings may limit cookies or similar technologies, although some features may then work differently.
BusinessStub is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as our services or legal obligations change. We will post the revised policy here and update its effective date.
Questions or privacy requests may be sent to contact@businessstub.com or Business Stub, Boise, Idaho, United States.
